Our first introduction to Flag Day was through the masterful party design of Jarrett in his Queens apartment. This was his second annual flag day party and we have brought the tradition back with us to the west coast. The large flag you see on the wall in some of the pictures was stiched for Jarrett by his mother while he was serving aboard a submarine.

A small selection of photos which I took on a trip from California to Ecuador between June and October of 1993. If I ever get around to it, maybe I will add some from further on in the trip. Take a peek and imagine a very enlightening experience.

Growing up in Salinas, it was hard to avoid John Steinbeck. No matter where you turned, something was named after him, or you were walking through some locale in one of his stories. So, when I decided to try my hand at landscapes with an 8x10 camera, one of my first stops was Steinbeck Country.
